H.264 Watermarking Scheme for video and audio

Description:

This robust and imperceptible digital watermark scheme can be used to protect digital media from pirating and tampering. Unlike many other methods, it survives the state of the art H.264 digital compression technology. In 2005, piracy cost the US economy between $200 and $250 billion. Despite these losses, there is little available on the market to effectively protect the holders of copyright, while maintaining the flexibility and high definition video and audio quality the consumers expect.

 This solution provides the following:

  1. Security, by detecting activity in spatial and temporal domains;

  2. Practicality for real-time applications, since it is fast with low complexity;

  3. Easy implementation, since it does not require any changes in the H.264 codec, except adding one block for addition operations;

  4. High transparency and capacity performance for authentication;

  5. Negligible increase in the video output bitrate. (Almost 0 compared to a 3% increase with the best current technology).
