The technology is a traffic splitting protocol for multipath routing in wireless sensor networks that enables a better distribution of node traffic, and longer lasting and more efficient sensor networks. Current technologies look for the shortest paths for signals, however this could result in less efficient transmission on high traffic networks. This algorithm enables a node to choose the path according to load, as well as length of the path in order to optimise the resources of the network.
Benefits:
Longer wireless sensor network life
Reduced Energy use through efficient use of network resources
Faster signal transmission through reductions in bottlenecks
Reliable transmission through reduced packet delivery latency
Ease of implementation at the nodes
