Light Weight Cooling Garment for 3-4 hours use

Description:

This cooling garment uses membranes and evaporation within an enclosed pouch to provide high levels of cooling for workers in hot environments through the use of pre-charged light weight pouches. The technology is called absorptive membrane vacuum evaporative cooling (AMVEC). It provides heat removal without requiring a portable power supply.

The technology has the following benefits:

Comfort through reduced weight, bulk, and surface cooling temperature

Improved mobility by charging, disconnecting, and walking away from the power source

Flexibility for different environments by reversing the cooler and using the hot side for warmth in cold environments

Tuneable by changing the properties, a manufacturer could provide differing levels of cooling according to needs.

Performance demonstrated to be superior to the state of the art for 1 hour cooling, with potential to increase to 4-6 hour range. A cooling pad has a cooling capacity of 373.1 W/m2 in an environment of 37 oC.
