Efficient Cooling for Refrigeration, Ventilation, and Industrial Process

Description:

This evaporative cooling system provides a compact heat sink for chillers used in ventilation, appliances, and industrial process. The cooling systems includes a standard condenser set up that is cooled using evaporation rather than ambient air, and therefore efficiency is not reduced in hot environments. This membrane system brings the benefits of efficient evaporative system normally done using large cooling towers, to a much smaller scale.

Details: Evaporative cooling is more effective that cooling through the use of ambient air cooling, yet most appliances dissipate their heat into the air. Evaporative cooling has been limited to large scale industrial operations where large cooling towers are built. The technology provides the following benefits:

 

  • Improved cooling - COP is up to 3.6 or higher than standard cooling

  • Reduced footprint of the cooling device (approximately 5-10% of conventional cooling tower; ½ - 2/3 of conventional air-cooled condenser

  • Reduced energy use by eliminating the vacuum used with other small scale evaporative coolers.

  • Cooling independent of ambient air temperature

  • Quiet operation
