Ionescu- Reconfiguarable Multimedia Collaboration System (RCMS)

Description:

The Reconfigurable Multimedia Collaboration System (RMCS) acts as processor performing SIP and XML related tasks at the hardware level.. The RMCS is an embedded system for establishing multimedia communications sessions with multiple users through the internet. Sessions may be established with arbitrary number of users and communication may take place using audio, video or text data."

SIP - Session Initiation Protocol, enable phone calls to be initiated on the Internet. The protocol also enables video or IM instant messaging to be channeled over the Internet. The multimedia capabilities of SIP are leveraged by many products & services to that aim to facilitate the convergence of data and communication.

XML - Extensible Markup Language "XML is a general-purpose specification for creating custom markup languages.[1] It is classified as an extensible language because it allows its users to define their own elements. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the sharing of structured data across different information systems, particularly via the Internet,[2] and it is used both to encode documents and to serialize data"

The RCMS is an embedded hardware system that can be deployed in any VoIP device. It offers a high performance convergence of different communication (voice, data, IM) across devices such as Servers, Cell phones, PDAs, PCs, Set-box, sensors etc.

RCMS could be a key component in the field of Wireless Data/Voice Over IP (wVOIP). Phone communication requires a high level quality of service since it is a real time application any loss of information packet impact the clarity of sounds
