Faster Cloud Gaming Processing

Description:

This technology enables less operations to be done by the video encoder on the servers used for cloud gaming. The result is faster rendering of the game and lower power consumption at the server side. In other words, the server can serve more players or games with the same amount of power consumption as the conventional method.

Details: By implementing the software on the servers, cloud gaming platform providers can reduce the computational load. It packages the information from the game engine in a manner that reduces the load on the encoder, while ensuring negligible reduction in the user experience. This is important as more smart phones, tablets, and other devices are used for connecting gamers in massively multiplayer online game, while game developers are increasing the complexity and realism of games. This has shifted all processing to the central servers to ensure the user device only receives video.
