This camera takes 360ยบ stereoscopic pictures and videos that are realistic and easy on the eyes. It simplifies 3D panorama recording to the point that it can be done real time with a relatively small package, opening up new possibilities for live capture and transmission of, and interaction with, panoramic video. It can be used in applications such as teleconferencing, education, and entertainment.

Details:

The new lens configuration combined with our processing software adapts to commonly used 3D methods. The configuration enables it to use a mosaicking approach for rendering, which is computationally efficient. This eliminates the need for an additional step of correcting distorted images. The technology has the following advantages:

Low cost as it uses a low number of cameras and has simple processing requirements.

Enables real time transmission as there is no need to correct the images frame by frame to reduce mosaicking errors. Efficient rendering means reduced transmission lag through a network.

Interactive applications in videoconferencing and entertainment are possible due to efficient rendering and transmission.

High quality images are produced by this set up

Portability as this system uses 12 small cameras in a 9 cm diameter case.
