To provide the best possible video quality streamed over a public (best-effort) network, this software enables a user transmitting video to optimize network use. Unlike most solutions that use buffering at the receiving end of the transmission, or use techniques that do not fully use the available network bandwidth, this technology works in real time and without the delay that buffering imposes even during high traffic periods. Video and audio in real time and/or live applications such as high definition video conferencing is enhanced to the quality levels normally reserved for private networks.
Details: This Dynamic Rate Control software (DRC) works by maximising the allocated video bit rate based on the varying and dynamic available bandwidth in a network. DRC looks at all parameters related to the bitrate allocation, as well as the likely needs of the transmission to ensure that the best video quality possible is transmitted and received in time sensitive applications such as telepresence and video conferencing. It continuously and dynamically adjusts the video bitrate based on the varying network conditions, guaranteeing the best video quality possible at any point in time.
Benefits:
· No expensive dedicated networks
· True real time applications are enabled
· Easy to implement end-system-only software solution
· High visual quality without loss or time delay from buffering
· Greater control for the video transmitter, enabling new services.
